A huge population of this world does not have perfect vision i.e. 6/6 vision hence they either wear glasses or contact lenses. Spectacles are fine but the whole world goes blurry when you take them off and you feel disoriented. Contact lenses make you feel like chic because nobody knows that you’re wearing them (if they are of an ordinary color) but the problem with contacts is that you should not wear them for more than 8 hours. When you wear contact lenses, for a long period of time can harm your eyes slowly and gradually. While wearing lenses, there are many rules you need to follow and you need to be cautious of quite a few things.

Hence, eye surgery was invented to get rid of all such problems and give you a life of clear vision without the help of tools. Eye surgeries to perfect your vision have been around since years but laser surgery is new comparatively. Laser eye surgery is also known as Lasik and is very common nowadays.

Many people are skeptical when it comes to exposing their eye to laser because frankly it does sound dangerous but in reality, it is not. Hence we decided to prepare an explanation of laser eye surgery which will help you understand the whole process and give you genuine information which will help you decide in favor of laser eye surgery.

The mission of the eye surgery is to perfect your vision. Since the lens of an eye cannot be reach because for that one would have to completely remove the cornea in front of it, surgeons work with the shape of the cornea. It is called Lasik because it forms Laser-Assisted In-Situ Keratomileusis.

The procedure of the laser eye surgery is quite simple. The first step is to apply anesthesia to the eye so that you do not feel pain though it would be uncomfortable. Then the eyelids and cornea are secured in place by a device. Three incisions are made in the cornea either by a laser which exposes powerful light for nanoseconds or by a microscopic knife. The incisions make an entryway by creating a flap which is opened. With the help of the computer, the shape of the corneal tissues is reshaped and the flap is closed. After that, you are good to go home and take care of that eye as per the doctor’s instructions.
